Pricing

Publish your prices. "Inbox for price" is costing you money

· 5 min read

It is the most common instinct on social selling: hide the price so you can negotiate. On a catalogue it works against you, because the buyer who has to ask is the buyer who does not bother.

Hidden prices filter out the wrong people

The buyers who message for a price are disproportionately the ones shopping around for the cheapest. The ones who would have paid your number see no number, assume it is more than they want to spend, and scroll on.

You have not protected your margin. You have removed the customers who were fine with it.

A published price does the qualifying for you

When the price is on the card, everyone who messages you has already accepted it. That changes the conversation from "how much" to "when can you deliver", which is a much shorter path to money.

Use "from" pricing when the price genuinely varies

Some work cannot be priced exactly in advance — a braiding appointment that depends on length, a car service that depends on what you find, a bespoke commission.

Publish a starting price and say what moves it. "From 80,000, depending on length" is honest and specific. "Price on request" reads to most buyers as expensive.

Show bulk tiers if you sell bulk

If you are a wholesaler, publishing tier prices removes the single most repetitive conversation in your day. Soko renders bulk tiers as a price table on the product page — enter one line per tier and your contractors stop calling to ask.

If you would rather negotiate, publish the retail price and say "bulk pricing on request". Either is better than nothing.
